FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW CAN I GET A CUSTOM TORI DANY DESIGNS PIECE?
I am so excited that you interested in having a Tori Dany Designs original! This is the first step to treating yourself with something beautiful and handmade, tailored for you. Send me a message or you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Include inspiration ideas and Pinterest photos. Tell me a little about what the special occasion is, whether it is prom, a birthday, or your wedding. I want to know the story of your special day so it will be easier for me to design for you!
WHAT IS THE INVESTMENT RANGE OF A CUSTOM DESIGN?
This is a good question, as you are not only investing in your finished dress, but also in personalized design and pattern making. Your dress has never been made before, and your price quote will be as unique as your dress is. You can find starting prices based on the type of design on the investment page of my website. As a rule, when designs are custom and tailored specifically for you, every piece will have different needs and turn around time. Your choice of fabric, type of garment, and numbers of fittings will determine the final price of the piece. Since everything is custom and one of a kind for you, refunds are not available.
For wedding gowns: Your handmade, customized wedding gown will take over 50+ hours of skilled labor and a minimum of $500 of materials to produce, from concept to wedding day. Most often, the all-inclusive total for a custom dress comes to somewhere between $1,500 and $5,000 depending on fabrics and final design.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO GET IN TOUCH FOR A CUSTOM PIECE?
Custom designs take some time to be made perfect to fit nicely on your body. There will be multiple fittings and you might want to have minor changes to the garment. For wedding dresses, please allow three months for me to create your dream dress. For all other designs, you may reach out a month in advance. I like to spread out my design projects, so that I can focus on putting 110% into your specially-made garment.
WHAT DOES THE DESIGN PROCESS LOOK LIKE WORKING WITH TORI DANY DESIGNS?
I'm glad you asked! When you first inquire, I will send you my different design packages. From there, we will have our initial consultation where we will discuss the style of your custom piece, fabric swatches, and get your measurements. I will choose and source the materials, because I know what type of fabrics work for what design. If you would like to come with me to shop, you are more than welcomed to. You will have two fittings to see how the garment is working out for you. A third fitting can also be scheduled if needed. After that, it will be time for you to pick up your Tori Dany Designs gown and rock it for your occasion!
WHAT OTHER SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
Along with custom designs, Tori Dany Designs offers alterations to those locally in North Dakota. I also offer styling services for those who want to revamp their closet or need help with photoshoots. You can browse my online boutique for the staples you need.
HOW DO YOU WORK WITH OUT OF STATE CLIENTS?
It is difficult to find the perfect designer for your unique gown. If I am your pick, we can most definitely make it work. I will send over the measurement questionnaire for you to fill out and then I can create something fabulous based off your measurements. Fittings can be arranged if travel costs are covered. Once the gown is finished, it will shipped to you! Client covers all shipping costs. The garment is made based off of the measurements provided. If for some reason, the client needs to get the garment altered, the client covers those charges.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK AND ARE THERE REFUNDS?
There is a $50 consultation fee, because I provide a couple fashion sketches for the client at the initial meeting. After design and investment price is finalized, payment must be made in full before labor starts. Another invoice will be provided after materials are purchased. Design and labor is very time consuming and there is high attention to detail for design projects. With that said, there are no refunds. Thank you for understanding.
