A while back, I received an email inquiring about a custom top for prom. Of course I took the opportunity to make something amazing and when I found out what it was going to be paired with, I didn't want to let this project go. Anjali told me that her parents wanted her to wear something traditional from the Indian culture. When the top was finished, Anjali tried it on with her traditional skirt and told me she was more excited than ever to wear the outfit together. She was a little skeptical to wear her Indian skirt at first because her original top she had wasn't fitting for prom.
Anjali gave me some ideas of what she wanted for her top. I started sketching and sent her some different fabric swatches. The bodice of the top was created with a beautiful lace fabric with a dash of black mini sequins for a splash of shimmer. The arms are made of black mesh. The neck opening is wide and shows off a little bit of her shoulder. It's a modest crop top for prom and Anjali is going to be so fierce wearing it. I can't wait to show you pictures she sends me from this weekend!! :)
I enjoyed the visits she made to Minot to get fitted. Our talks were great and we found out that we had so much in common. We were both in DECA and we can say that it was one of the amazing highlights of our high school careers. I wish her the best at College Station, TX next year! Get your engineering degree, girl!
